Women's Espadrilles | Handcrafted Wedge Heels

The espadrille has a 700-year history. Ours begins in a workshop in rural Kenya, where women artisans weave jute and stitch leather by hand — reimagining a Mediterranean classic through an African lens.

Designed to take you from morning to evening without a second thought. Choose from genuine pull-up leather that softens with every wear, natural canvas, or one of our limited edition African print styles — each made in a single small run and never repeated.

THE PRINT STORIES

  • Wild Flame

Inspired by the bold geometric fire motifs found in Kente weaving from West Africa — a tradition where every colour and pattern carries meaning. Red and orange tones signify strength, passion and the vitality of life. Designed in collaboration between Angela and our Kenya workshop, Wild Flame brings that energy into every step.

  • Close-up of a tortoiseshell pattern on a black background

    Midnight Flame

Drawn from the rich indigo dyeing traditions of the Yoruba people of West Africa, where deep blues and smouldering contrasts have been used for centuries to mark occasion and ceremony. Midnight Flame is for the woman who dresses with intention after dark.

  • Close-up of blue fabric with a black stripe on a clear background

    Ocean Spirit

Rooted in the coastal Kanga textile tradition of East Africa — the fabric that Kenyan and Swahili women have wrapped, worn and gifted for generations, always carrying a message. Our Ocean Spirit print captures the blues and rhythms of the Indian Ocean coastline.

  • Round coaster with purple and orange pattern on a white background

    Royal Ember

Inspired by the ceremonial Kitenge prints of Central and East Africa, where deep jewel tones and layered pattern have long signalled dignity and pride. Angela and our Kenya workshop selected Royal Ember to hold that same weight — a print that feels like it was made for a moment worth remembering.

BRENDA - HANDBEADING AND SEWING

"I never finished high school myself. But I learned to hand-bead, and I got good at it. Every term I put aside what I could and paid for Ivy's school fees. She finished high school. Now she's at university. I did that."
